For many years we have enjoyed our 9’ King of Christmas flocked tree in our living room. It worked beautifully in that space as we have a very high cathedral ceiling. This year, I wanted a more moderately sized tree for our family room with 9’ ceilings. I thought a 7.5’ tree would be a good option for the space. Therefore, I chose the 7.5’ Yorkshire Fir Artificial Christmas Tree with 600 warm white LED lights from King of Christmas. In this post, King of Christmas 7.5’ Yorkshire Fir Christmas Tree Review, I share my review of this product and its features. As a bonus, I share how I decorated it for the Christmas holidays.

It’s a great time of year to purchase a Christmas tree to allow for delivery and decorating in plenty of time before the holiday season begins. Christmas is only 11 weeks away and I enjoy having all the decor in place well in advance. This reduces holiday stress and means our friends and family can enjoy it for several weeks. King of Christmas also has some amazing sales on trees right now!
Unpackaging the Tree
When I opened the box from King of Christmas, I was happy to see that it included a storage bag and protective gloves to prevent unintentional scratches. I wish I had discovered these gloves long ago! And I know I will use the storage bag once the holidays are over.
Setting up the Tree
Assembling the tree was an easy process, even easier than our 9’ tree which generally requires two people to set up. I assembled the new tree myself in about 5 minutes. Then, I spent an additional 10 minutes separating and spreading the branches to give them a full look.
The tree came in three segments plus a base. The base is placed first and the numbered sections are added one at a time. I recommend adding the tree skirt at the beginning as it’s harder to do afterwards. The tree segments slide into place easily and the assembled tree is very stable. I never have to worry about my King of Christmas trees toppling. The lights are all prewired so there’s absolutely no fussing with cables or light strings. As each segment is added the electrical connections are made automatically in the center rod/tree trunk.
After the tree was assembled, I separated the branches and positioned some of the branches at different angles for a natural and full look.
The Colour and Look of this Tree
The colour is a really natural-looking dark green typical of real fir trees. The branches are fairly long with shorter needles typical of firs. This King of Christmas tree reminds me of the real fir trees we have purchased from our local tree farm, without the mess of dropping needles!
The Lights
Let me start by saying that I would only purchase an artificial tree with lights. It’s one of the benefits of purchasing an artificial tree. We have purchased real trees many times in the past and placing lights is by far the most frustrating aspect of Christmas decorating! And from my experience with our 9′ King of Christmas tree, I know that the LED lights last for a very long time. After 6 years, I haven’t noticed any lights that have gone out and the tree has the same beautiful glow it had from day one.
This tree has 600 warm white LED lights and the overall effect is one of warmth and elegance. It really makes our family want to spend time in this room and ‘gather round the tree’.
A foot pedal switch makes turning the lights on and off a breeze. By pressing the pedal again, I can access several different light programs. My favourite is the gently twinkling lights.
The Size and Proportions
The 7.5′ size is perfect for our 9′ ceilings as it gives us enough space to place a large star on top. It would also work in a room with 8′ ceilings with a small to medium-sized star. The footprint of the tree is moderate and fits well into our fairly small family room. King of Christmas carries trees in different heights and trees with a narrow profile for entryways and small spaces.
How I Decorated Our Tree for the Holidays
Our family room is decorated in shades of white and soft blue in a subtle coastal theme. I decided to add ornaments in tones of white, blue, silver, and cinnamon. The motifs I used are gingerbread and snowflakes, but I may add some coastal elements like shells and rope balls as we get closer to Christmas.
Another thing I love about this tree is that there are spaces between the branches to allow for plenty of ornaments. However, it is still a full enough tree to leave undecorated. I do love the look of undecorated trees with warm twinkling lights.
Creating a Welcoming Look
To create a space that compliments my King of Christmas 7.5’ Yorkshire Fir Christmas Tree, I added a few holiday elements surrounding the tree. First, I placed a cozy chair next to the tree for curling up with a book or planning Christmas menus. Then, I added a pillow and a throw in shades of blue and white. Next, I sprinkled a few gingerbread-themed decor accents throughout the room. To tie in with the coastal theme of the room, I used a weathered rattan tree skirt in a whitewashed grey finish.
Summary
In summary, I am thrilled with my King of Christmas 7.5’ Yorkshire Fir Christmas Tree for many reasons. It is beautiful and realistic looking and very easy to assemble. It is very well made and I know from my experience with my other King of Christmas tree that it will last and last. The warm lights are abundant and produce a lovely glow. The foot pedal is so handy- no bending over and no searching in vain for a switch hidden in the branches. And finally, I love having the different lighting options to set the mood for different types of gatherings. I hope you have found this post useful and got a little early Christmas decor inspiration. Happy holiday decorating!
