Light and Airy Fall Bedroom Decor

Fall is in the air and I’ve nearly completed all my fall decorating. I love to decorate our bedroom with seasonal decor because it’s a space I spend so much time in. Have you considered adding some autumn decor to your bedroom? It’s a quick update you can do in less than an hour. In this post, Light and Airy Fall Bedroom Decor, I share how I decorated our Master bedroom for fall using a light and bright palette. Fall doesn’t have to mean dark colours, and here I show you my ideas for adding comfort and fall charm while maintaining a bright, airy feel. These ideas could also be used in a guest bedroom or carried over to other rooms in your home.

The Bedding

The starting point for this fall refresh was the bedding. In summer, I often use all-white bedding, but for fall I like to change this up a little. I choose the “Farmhouse” bedding set from Beddy’s. I love that it has an overall bright feel, but the distressed grey stripes add some contrast and interest. I find that grey is a wonderful colour to use in fall decor because it provides a lovely contrast to the warmer hues often associated with autumn (beige, brown, orange, rust, burgundy). Furthermore, it keeps the palette from looking too warm or too dark. As you can see here, it mixes well with whites and various wood tones.

The Artwork

I like to change the artwork above the bed on a seasonal basis, and this year I chose this rustic wood sign from Honeysuckle Shop. “I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers” is a quote from one of my childhood favourite book series, Anne of Green Gables. I have to share the full quote, because it is so delicious. “Oh, Marilla,” she exclaimed one Saturday morning, coming dancing in with her arms full of gorgeous boughs, “I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers. Right Side Table

I kept the side table decor simple, with a pretty vase with fresh hydrangeas and a candle in an amber glass jar. The flowers keep things looking fresh and alive, while the candle hints of the warm colours of autumn.

Left Side Table

I added a basket full of my handmade pumpkins to the left side table. These pumpkins are available in my Etsy shop in a variety of patterns and colours. Additionally, I share the instructions to make these at home right here.

Styled Tray

I almost always add a tray to the bed for a pretty finishing touch. Here I added a little vintage-look basket with more fabric pumpkins and a small beverage pitcher. For a guest room, you could place useful items like a stack of books or pretty notebook and pen for your guests to enjoy.

Pillows

If you know me, then you know that pillows are one of my favourite decor accessories. I chose pillows that were neutral, yet full of textural and whimsical details. The pumpkin motif on this pillow invokes coziness but its light colour adds to the bright and airy feel of the room.
