My Review of the FabFitFun Summer Box

I can’t remember exactly when FabFitFun first appeared on my radar, but it was probably about 3 years ago when I first joined Instagram. I do recall being very interested, but also thinking that I’m not the kind of person to spoil myself. Seriously….who was that person? I’ve come to realize that we all need to care for ourselves, especially as mothers, because we tend to put our own needs behind those of our family day after day. If we don’t take time to nurture and rejuvenate ourselves, then who will? The entire premise behind FabFitFun is to nurture and empower women through healthy living and self care, as well as sharing fun beauty, fashion and home products. I created this review of the FabFitFun Summer box to encourage women to give this box a try.

Subscribing

FabFitFun is a quarterly subscription box that arrives at the beginning of each season. I received my summer box on May 31, which is perfect timing to enjoy all summer long. The box is regularly $49.99 USD, but I’m happy to share my coupon code HEATWAVE with you to save $10 on your first box, making it only $39.99. As you will see, this is an amazing deal because the products in the box are worth over $250.00.  Note that there is an option to save a little more if you sign up and pay for the annual subscription and become a “Select Member”. When you sign up for FabFitFun, you will complete a survey of your likes and interests, as well as details such as clothing size. You have the opportunity to customize each box or let FabFitFun surprise you. There are 9 full sized items in the summer box, and 3 of the items are customizable. Becoming an Affiliate

It’s very easy to become an affiliate and anyone can do this regardless of the number of followers or how popular you are on social media. I decided to do this because I love the FabFitFun products and am happy to share this, while earning a free box and commissions at the same time.  When clicks result in 3 or more sales, the next season’s box is awarded to the affiliate marketer, plus a small commission is provided for each box sold. The Summer Box

The summer 2019 box is my second FabFitFun box. I thought that the spring box was amazing, but I’m even more obsessed with the summer treasures- it’s the perfect mix of beauty, fashion, and home décor.

The Four Items Included in Every Box:

Generation Clay Ultra Violet Brightening Purple Clay Mask (value $39)

This mask rejuvenates dull skin and boosts hydration. When I first applied this to my face I found it tingled quite a bit but that feeling quickly dissipated. The mask dried in about 5 minutes and I removed it to reveal skin that felt smooth, fresh and very clean. I also noticed some lightening of previously darker patches of skin.

Grace & Stella Rose Facial Spray (value $25.95)

Use this spray to give your skin that fresh and moisturized feeling. The light rose scent is absolutely lovely and I enjoy the refreshing feeling (never sticky) on my face. I think I would use this on no-makeup days or on my neck and chest as I worry that spraying on top of makeup could smudge the makeup.

Whish Exfoliating Foot Mask (value $32)

This product exfoliates and softens your feet to get them sandal ready! I was surprised by how much I loved this product. I apply it before bed every few days and cover my feet with socks to keep the moisture in. In the morning my feet are very soft and the rough patches completely gone. I have tried everything and this is the only product that has provided lasting (several days) smoothness.

Invisibobble Original Duo Pack (value $16)

The description claims that this product is a revolutionary hair tool that provides a strong grip that leaves your hair traceless. I didn’t think these would work on my fine hair but they did work very well. They hold their place perfectly with no slippage. Be careful removing them though as they can pull out a few hairs if you’re not careful.

Spiritual Gangster Maya Kimono (value $60)

Made of spun rayon for a cooling effect, this pretty Kimono wrap has front pockets and a wrap belt. It fits up to size 16. I adore this wrap so much. There are several ways to tie it and it can be worn as a bathrobe, bathing suit cover up, or as part of a dressed up summer outfit. I love it paired with skinny jeans (distressed, white, or black) and a tank top.

XO, Sienna Black Felt Letter Board (value $35)

This felt letter board comes with 189 letters, number, emojis, and symbols for creating to-do lists, motivational sayings, love notes, or menus. The possibilities are endless. Now that I have one of these I think every household needs one. The quality is very good. My only complaint is that there wasn’t enough of the letter E’s to recreate a quote I was interested in.

Odeme What a Pair Set of 2 Silicone Wine Glasses (value $25)

Unbreakable wine glasses perfect for enjoying a cold beverage poolside or while picnicking. They come in a cute travel bag. These are very pretty and practical for busy families. I find I have to remind myself to use them. We are a family of 4 boys and myself, so I’m the only one who is interested in using a pink cup!

Living Proof No Frizz Nourishing Styling Cream (value $28)

This product promises to combat frizz while conditioning, smoothing, and blocking humidity. I really enjoy this product as it tames my flyaways and keeps my hair looking smooth all day. I have yet to test it out on a really humid day, but I’m hoping it will help my hair resist the wayward curls that plague hot humid days.

Intelligent Nutrients Refining Micro Polish (value $57)

Plant-based, biodegradable facial exfoliant to achieve refined pores and smooth skin. This is a lovely product that has a mild exfoliating power gentle enough to be used every day. However, I didn’t notice any significant change in my skin after using it. I do love the subtle aroma and the fact that it’s organic and animal-friendly.

My Favourite Three Items

I think the very best part of FabFitFun is discovering amazing new products. I’m not a fashion or beauty expert, so having people that are experts in these fields carefully make these selections for each box means I’m able to try products I’d probably never find in my area and probably never have the knowledge to even dream up. My favourite three items are:

The Maya Kimono, because of it’s soft and cooling fabric and sophisticated styling that can be dressed up or down.

The Purple Clay Mask, because it leaves my skin feeling cleaner and softer than ever and minimizes pores and dark spots. I actually love the combination of the Kimono, Purple Clay Mask, and Foot Mask, because it makes me feel like I’ve made a trip to the spa. It reminds me to take time to nourish and care for myself, even if I don’t have the time or budget to visit the spa regularly.

The Black Felt Letter Board, because I’m having so much fun creating messages with it, and my kids love it too.
