Happy New Year friends! I hope that 2022 is a year of happiness, success, and health for all of you. Thank you so much for joining me in 2021 on this blogging journey. I can’t believe I’m now celebrating my three-year blogging anniversary! This past year has been a year of growth in many ways. I participated in the One-Room Challenge for the first time ever and it was more fun and rewarding than I had imagined. I wrote more posts about the topics you most love and want to learn more about. In fact, today’s post is all about your favourites! For the third year in a row, I’m sharing my top 10 posts of the past year, based on Google Analytics. Like the 2019 favourites and 2020 favourites, my IKEA posts are very popular. My top 10 blog posts of 2021 are a mix of everything I love about blogging, including crafts, DIY’s, IKEA product reviews and hacks, styling, and gardening.
In the coming year, I will be sharing more of these favourites. We have started a basement finishing project and I’m going to share all the must-see DIY information. I’m also hoping to participate in the One-Room Challenge again. My style is evolving somewhat and there will be some new and exciting decorating posts this year. And, I will continue to share the types of craft projects you all enjoy.

#10 – 6 Indoor Plants Perfect For Farmhouse Decor
I’m so happy this post made the cut for 2021. My interest in plants is continuing to grow, as it did for many of you during the extra time spent at home. My plants are thriving, actually more like taking over! But I still want more, and I plan to share a number of posts about houseplants this year. I purchased/adopted my Monstera plant after I wrote this post and it has become my most beloved houseplant, so I definitely see a Monstera post in the near future. I also will be sharing my best houseplant care tips and beautiful ways to display plants.
#9 – My Review Of The Restoration Hardware Vintage French Cane Back Chairs
Over two years later, and I still adore these chairs. I love the quality and their versatility, how they transition from French Country to modern traditional style so easily. I plan to update this post with notes on how the chairs have held up with repeated use.
#8 – 15 Simple Ways To Get The Farmhouse Look
Despite rumours that the farmhouse style is waning, farmhouse content is still going strong. I believe that farmhouse style will always be popular in some form. I think it’s undergoing a transformation and I’m really interested in exploring this idea in my posts this year. The best part of my 15 Simple Ways post is that you can pick and choose the ideas that inspire you and work best in your home.
#7 – How To Create A Cute Coffee Bar In Any Space
Coffee will likely never go out of style and, as decor lovers, we are always looking for ways to make the practical pretty. No matter where you live, you can create a coffee bar, and this post shows you how to create one that is functional and a reflection of your personal style. With many more of us working from home, a home coffee bar is on the list of most-desired home decor projects. Luckily, it is an easily attainable luxury!
#6 – DIY Mudroom IKEA Hack
This project was a labour of love and definitely one of the projects I’m the proudest of. How many of us would love to have a beautiful piece of furniture designed to bring order and comfort to one of the busiest rooms in our home? In the post, I share every last detail of this DIY, from supplies to instructions, to finishing the project with paint and stain. I’ll be doing a lot more of this type of project this year with our basement finishing.
#5 – IKEA Finds That Look Expensive
This was a post that is near and dear to my heart and exemplifies my purpose in blogging. I want to share with others how to create beautiful and unique home decor without spending a ton of money. While I do love IKEA, I don’t like the items that look cheap or mass-produced. In this post, I found the most interesting and high-end looking pieces that will add character and charm to your home. And, I have a brand new IKEA post that I will be sharing with you all later this month.
#4 – How To Install Faux Board And Batten
I’m not at all surprised to see this post amongst my top-rated posts. With the love affair with shiplap starting to wane, many are looking for other ways to adorn the walls. Board and batten and other types of trim are more popular than ever. My post shares everything you need to know to add board and batten to your home to create a timeless look.
#3 – My IKEA Sofa Review – The New Froslov Sofa
IKEA posts have always been my most popular posts and IKEA sofas are some of the most purchased sofas on the planet, so seeing this post at #3 is not surprising. I still love this sofa and am very pleased with how it has stood the test of time. Updating this post will be one of the first things I do this year, as I have received countless messages on how the fabric and structure have held up over the years. I’m also hoping to have more IKEA product reviews this year, as we will be incorporating several IKEA pieces into our basement renovation project.
#2 – When To Use Chalk Paint, Fusion Paint, And Milk Paint
When I wrote this post, I was answering a fundamental furniture paint question that I had wondered about for years. After many more projects, I stand by everything I wrote in this post. If you have an inkling to paint any type of furniture, then I recommend reading this post. There is a lot of detailed information on preparation, painting techniques, and finishing methods.
#1 – Easy DIY Felt Leaf Wreath
I can’t believe you collectively chose this as your favourite blog post of 2021! Thank you! I have owned a wreath shop since 2015, and I share a couple of wreath posts with you every year. This wreath is one of my favourites, especially in winter, because of its simplicity and tactile softness. I’m happy that others appreciate a simple wreath made of simple materials. Making this wreath can be a meditative process and I hope that this project has brought some serenity and enjoyment to those of you who tried it.
Summary Of My Top 10 Blog Posts Of 2021
One thing that was conspicuously absent from my list relative to previous years was the lack of recipes in the top 10. I don’t think I shared a single recipe this past year and I’m not really sure why. I’m an avid cook and baker but I tend to not take pictures while I’m cooking. I’ll try to share a couple of my very favourites this year.
Thank you so much for reading my top 10 blog posts of 2021. Did you have a favourite post this year? What would you like to see more of on the blog this year?
