Do you decorate your bedroom for fall? Most years I just add a few small touches to mark the beginning of the cooler season. I include some pumpkins or leaves and perhaps a festive pillow. Additionally, I layer on the blankets and place candles throughout. This year I kept it pretty simple and kept the palette neutral with the exception of the rich green dresser. I also added a piece of bold new artwork. In this post, Neutral And Green Fall Bedroom Decor, I’m sharing how I created a neutral and cozy look for fall.

A Neutral Backdrop
Our Master bedroom has a pretty neutral backdrop, with beige Berber carpet and cream shiplap walls. The four-poster bed frame is composed of medium-toned wood. Additionally, there is a black book cabinet and white side tables. The only pop of colour comes from the green dresser that I painted in Fusion Mineral Paint Bayberry in 2020. I decided to keep the fall decor neutral, adding mostly white, black, beige, and camel accents.
Dresser Area
I added this new bold print from Desenio to the wall above the dresser. I’m happy with this colour combination of green with black and white. It has that modern farmhouse look that I really enjoy. This look suits the bedroom because of the shiplap wall and the 4-poster bed. The framed print is the Les Saules No 1 Poster in the 50 by 70 cm size. I framed it with a simple black wood frame from Desenio.
On top of the dresser, I added mostly white accessories. First, I placed three chunky candle pillars that have a weathered white finish. I used white battery-powered candles, which I think is a good safe option for the bedroom. Therefore, I don’t have to worry if I happen to fall asleep while reading in bed. I don’t want to admit how many times I’ve dropped the book I’m reading on my face!
I also added a modern-looking vase with faux flowers and several of my handmade natural linen pumpkins. These pumpkins are handmade by me and I sell them in my Etsy shop. You can also find the DIY tutorial here! You can use any type of fabric you like and I promise they’re not too tricky to make.
Bedding
I opted for a layered look with the bedding, starting with a crisp white duvet. I added a graphic black and white patterned comforter at the end of the bed. To make this comforter, I used fabric from Tonic Living. I made my kitchen Roman blinds out of this fabric and you can view the tutorial here. Next, I layered on a knit blanket and a felt throw with hemstitch edging that I made.
For the pillows, I used two standard-sized pillows at the back (mostly hidden) and layered them with two 26″ square European sham pillows. Then, I placed two 22″ square pillows in a slubby beige fabric. I finished the look with a striped pillow I made and my favourite fall pillow from Porter Lane Home. A good rule of thumb is to start with larger pillows at the back, working your way forward with smaller pillows.
I adore the sweet dreams wood signs above the bed. They are perfect for year-round decor and were a great find from a local Ottawa signmaker, Kim from KT Inspired Home.
Side Tables
I kept the side table decor simple with some fall leaf stems and my fabric pumpkins. I like to use simple decor on the side tables to allow for the nighttime essentials (phone with alarm, fan remote, a book, and glasses).
Summary
I hope you enjoyed reading about my neutral and green fall bedroom decor. Did you add a little fall decor to your bedroom this year?
