Are you looking for a way to make Valentine’s Day special? If so, I have a pretty and playful Valentine’s Day tablescape that is fun and easy to put together. This tablescape is perfect for a family celebration and there are sweet and whimsical touches that children will appreciate.
My Valentine’s dinner will include all four of my sweethearts- my husband and three boys. I’m planning to make it special with a variety of dishes with something to make each of them smile. A pretty tablescape will make me happy which is one of the reasons I prepared this setting. The other reason is the fabulous Valentine’s tiered tray kit I received from HomeworksEtc. It was the inspiration for this tablescape with its bright pops of colour.

Valentine’s Day Tiered Tray Kit
I collaborated with HomeworksEtc to create this pretty and playful Valentine’s Day tablescape using their adorable deluxe Valentine’s Day tiered tray kit. The kit contained all the materials and tools needed to make the wood signs and tags, and the book stack. The adorable gnome was included with the kit and makes a perfect little gift for a sweetheart or child. If you want to see my video tutorial for the painted signs, you can find it here on my IGTV.
I placed all the sweet signs and wood decor on a marble tray with some faux flowers and a handmade bead garland. Can you believe I found a heart-shaped tiered tray? I was so excited when I found it at Homesense and I’m pretty sure I’m going to use it all year round when I make treats for the boys.
Table Linens and Flowers
Since I wanted the red and aqua tones of the wood signs to really stand out, I decided to use a natural linen tablecloth from Cozy Linen. Then, I added two linen runners and some beige and white polka dot placemats for the two middle seats. Next, I added some vintage bottles and filled them with realistic looking pink flowers from Michaels. I love fresh flowers and miss having them, but it’s just not possible during the pandemic. I’m all about shopping my home and shopping online from small businesses right now. I added a couple of blue-tinted mason jars to tie in with the aqua-coloured signs.
Valentine’s Place Settings
I wanted the place settings to be as fun and playful as the centerpiece, so I used my red and white plaid plates. To balance the look, I mixed them with some simple white plates. I used napkins to the match the table runners and topped off the place setting with one of the wood tags I made from the kit.
I played around with the tags a little to see which one looked best on the napkin. In the end, I couldn’t decide, as both signs are so cute! I think these tags would make a lovely keepsake for special guests.
Sweet Decor Touches in the Dining Room
For a more immersive feel, I created a couple of Valentine’s themed vignettes in the dining room. On the bookshelf, I placed a vase of faux flowers (also from Michaels), a “love” sign, and a quintet of vintage brass candlesticks from Luve Want Shop.
On the console table, I created a lush display of faux greenery and pink florals from Michaels. I used faux hops, ferns, and ivy for greenery, and layered in flowers in different shades of pink. Then, I topped the arrangement with a simple greenery wreath, but a Valentine’s-themed wreath would also be lovely here.
I hope you liked seeing how I created this pretty and playful Valentine’s Day tablescape. If you’re looking for more Valentine’s tablescape ideas, check out my post from last year, Pretty Pink Valentine’s Day Tablescape.
