Welcome to this Valentine’s Day Home Tour hosted by Pasha of Pasha Is Home. This is my first Valentine’s Home Tour in my four years of blogging and I’m excited to be on this tour with 15 talented bloggers. If you’re joining me from White Lilac Farmhouse with their gorgeous Valentine’s tablescape, thank you! Once you’ve finished reading my post, please visit the next participant on the tour for more sweet inspiration. Do you normally add a few Valentine’s touches to your home? I do, and my main reason is to beat the February blahs with its cold, slushy days and long nights. A little pink does a world of good to lift the spirits. In my Shades of Pink Valentine’s Home Tour, I’m sharing ways to add sweet Valentine’s Day decor to your entryway, living room, and dining room.

Inspiration
I tend to start my decorating with some sort of inspiration which could be a pillow cover, piece of art, rug, or anything really. This season, I was inspired by some lovely pink flowers I found, as well as everything pretty, feminine, and vintage. I had a white ruffled throw and a beautifully detailed picture frame that I knew I wanted to include in my Valentine’s decor and these were my starting points along with the flowers I found.
Entryway
I decided to decorate a small tree in our front entryway with Valentine’s decorations. Up to this point, I’ve been a trees-are-only-for-Christmas kind of person, but I thought I’d try something different and decorate a tree in our front entryway. To do this, I used my fabric Valentine’s hearts, which are available in my Etsy shop. Additionally, I used some painted wood mini signs and ornaments from Homeworks Etc. As a result, the combination of hearts and the cute Valentine’s messages lets everyone know this is not a Christmas tree.
Dining Room
Table Decor
I have always wanted to use this pretty ruffled throw as a table covering and this seemed like the perfect opportunity. I started the table decor with a solid white linen tablecloth and then layered the ruffled throw on top. Then, I added white scalloped French country-style plates, gold cutlery, and crystal goblets for a classic look. For the requisite splashes of pink, I added some handmade blush napkins with sweet literary quotes on them. The centerpiece was created with beautiful fresh flowers from Costco. I used fuchsia carnations surrounded by a cloud of baby’s breath in a classic creamware urn. Additionally, I topped off each napkin with a decorative wire ornament with a Fleur-de-lis. The ruffled table cover, white scalloped dishes, vintage urn, and black iron ornaments lend the table a French country feeling.
Console Table Decor
For the console table, I added two vintage-look window frames as a backdrop for a chalkboard I just made. I will share the details of this vintage chalkboard DIY next week. Next, I added a little handmade garland of fabric hearts made in the same fabric as the dinner napkins. Then, in front of the chalkboard, I placed a “love” wood lettering sign. To the right of the chalkboard is a marble heart-shaped tiered tray. Finally, to the left, I placed a vase of pink tulips and a low vase of baby’s breath. These are simple touches that help create Valentine’s atmosphere. I also added pink cushions and throws to the chairs at the ends of the table.
Living Room
Adding a few pillows in shades of pink created the look I wanted. Five pillows, one bright pink book, and a pink lantern were just the right amount of pink to give the room a romantic and cozy feel. I paired the pink pillows with beige and cream pillows and a striped beige and grey pillow. The floral pillow ties together all the different shades of pink in the space.
Piano
I added only a couple of small touches to the piano, including pink flowers in an upcycled IKEA vase and a romantic choice of sheet music to display on the piano. Additionally, a faux fur throw and frothy cream stems add a cozy feel.
Side Table
I couldn’t resist adding a bright pink book to the side table. It’s a fun pop of colour that reminds me of my childhood favourite colour. In grade 8, I had a winter ski jacket in this exact shade of pink and my snow pants that I currently wear are also very near to this colour. It’s a little unexpected here, but a fun touch.
Summary
Thank you for joining me on this Shades of Pink Valentine’s Home Tour. I hope you found it useful and I’d love it if you would visit the next home on this tour, Dabbling and Decorating. XOXO
