This is my absolute favourite time of year. The leaves are in full colour, it’s apple harvest time, and the days are cool without being too cold. In this post, Simple Ways to Add Fall Decor to Your Kitchen, I’m sharing a few easy ways that you can add that feeling of fall to your kitchen. If you want to bypass Halloween decor and enjoy pure and simple fall decor, this post is for you.

Colour Palette
A neutral palette of white, black, wood tones, and amber is warm and inviting while also being fresh and crisp. If your kitchen has more wood tones than my kitchen, then I recommend using more white decor items. Since my kitchen has all-white cabinetry, I added wood tones to warm things up a bit.
Kitchen Island
Seating
For the barstools, I used my white and black stripe slipcovers because they fit with the neutral colour scheme. You can see my free tutorial on how to make these slipcovers for the IKEA barstools here. Blankets add an inviting touch to any space, so why not add one in the kitchen. My boys often sit at the island to do homework and have a snack and a blanket makes the experience more cozy. I also placed a demijohn full of oak leaves beside the island for a rustic touch. Additionally, this ties in with the leaves I used in the tiered tray.
Tiered Tray
A tiered tray is a great way to add a focal point to the kitchen island. To start, gather a few fall-themed items in the neutral colour palette. Then find a few small white pottery items to add in. On the top tier, I used a cute folding wood sign, a cream mini pumpkin, and a wood wick candle. I love wood wick candles because they create a lovely crackling sound when burning. It really reminds me of time spent around the campfire.
For the middle tier, I used a white cream pitcher, vintage amber glass bottles, cream mini pumpkins, and oak leaves.
On the bottom tier, I used a large black fabric pumpkin, several white pumpkins, and more oak leaves.
Around The Oven
Wreath
I added a fall wreath from my Etsy shop, Willow Bloom Market, above the stovetop. It breaks up the expanse of white cupboards and creates a little focal point. The wreath consists of cream flowers, leaves, ferns, golden orange berries, and a beige gingham bow.
Countertop Decor
On the countertop, I kept my Rae Dunn white canisters and added a tray with a fall candle, wooden spoons, and a carved wood pumpkin. It’s definitely a less-is-more approach that keeps clutter to a minimum. I love burning candles in the kitchen while I cook. It brightens even the gloomy days of November.
Around The Kitchen Sink
Last year, I updated the area around the sink during the One Room Challenge. I made new Roman blinds in this pretty black and white fabric. Additionally, I installed new lighting. Both of these additions work well to create a lovely ambience for fall decor. In addition, I added a set of three black candlesticks and a soap dispenser made of amber glass. I also added plants in black and white pots. Finally, I added fresh tea towels in shades of beige and white. For a more whimsical touch, I think that white tea towels with cute mini pumpkin motifs would be charming.
