I decided to create this sweet treats Valentine’s Day Tablescape to feature some of my favourite Valentine’s Day treats. It was important to me to also include a few healthier options as my father is living with us temporarily and on a special diet. I found the most gorgeous tablecloth and some adorable accessories and the tablescape came together with the addition of the treats. If you’re looking for a fun and romantic tablescape, look through the photos in this post and read about where I sourced everything.

Inspiration
Usually, when I design a tablescape, I have one main idea or inspiration, but, in this case, it was a couple of different ideas. The first element I purchased was the beautiful linen-cotton tablecloth from Pottery Barn. It has a peachy blush-coloured base with a natural linen-coloured floral pattern on top. My second source of inspiration was all the sweet treats I wanted to include in the tablescape. These add a touch of colour and fun to the table.
Place Settings
For the place settings, I started with a woven charger. Would you believe these are from the dollar store? On top of the tan-coloured chargers, I added romantic scalloped plates and pure linen napkins in rattan napkin rings. Gold cutlery gives the table an elegant and festive look.
Sweet Treats
For the table centerpiece, I used a combination of sweet treats displayed on or in pretty vessels. I also used some plants and flowers. My favourite treats include chocolates, scones, and berry smoothies. I also thought the addition of heart-shaped candies would be a fun touch.
I found this adorable heart-shaped tiered tray at Homesense. I’ve collected the glass apothecary jars over time, but Pottery Barn has a great set of apothecary jars. They are the perfect way to display candies and chocolates. We have used them for birthday parties and celebrations to set up a candy bar. Pottery Barn also has the sweetest heart-shaped scalloped candy dishes.
Flowers and Plants
I also used flowers and plants to round out the table centerpiece. I found these mini rosebushes at our local Metro and placed them in affordable water hyacinth planters from IKEA. Finally, I used a few faux succulent plants that I often use in tablescapes. They add a nice fresh hit of green that is perfect for spring and summer.
Blue Accents
I could have used simple white pillows or pink pillows on the armchairs, but I chose to use these pretty blue floral pillows from IKEA. I just felt like doing something a little fun and unexpected. They tie in perfectly with the bookshelf we have under the arched mirror. I painted the inside of the shelf in a pretty blue milk paint. You can read about that furniture makeover here.
Buffet Table Decor
I always decorate the buffet table to coordinate with the dining table decor. I used my DIY vintage painted chalkboard that I upcycled from an old frame, a heart garland, and some pretty faux florals.
