I always find that January is the best time to get organized around the house. The weather in Ottawa, Canada is often bitterly cold and I’m ready to start the year with a fresh start. I’ve joined with some friends to bring you this post, The Best Home Organization Tips. Are you ready to get started organizing? This roundup is organized by my friend Rachel from The Ponds Farmhouse. I’m super excited to take a cue from these talented ladies and organize some of my home’s messiest spaces.
Home Office Organizing Tips With IKEA Hacks
Last week I shared several ways to create an organized, functional, and pretty office space. I used a few IKEA pieces and updated them inexpensively to create a custom look with lots of storage and organizational properties. If you have a messy or lacklustre office space, this post will help motivate you to start organizing your office. Sometimes, it just takes a little inspiration to get started on a project.
Best Pantry Organizing Tip And More
Who has a pantry that could use a little bit of a makeover? Many of us keep a lot more than food in the pantry and it can become disorganized really quickly. In her post, Rachel shares how she keeps her adorable pantry organized. The pegboard is a genius idea that keeps everything readily at hand and utilizes the full height of the space. More frequently used arms are at arm level and less often used and more decorative items are stored up high. You also have to check out her post to see the sweetest pantry door ever!
Spice Rack Organizing Ideas
Janine from Happy Happy Nester shares her spice rack organizing ideas in her post and I think everyone who reads her post will have spice rack envy! She organizes her spices using all one type of jar with the same type of label which is an important tip if you want your spices to look this tidy. I also love how she used a tiered stand so that all the labels are visible from the front of the cabinet. Her baking ingredients are also organized so beautifully with the most charming labels. In her post, Janine shares the sources for the jars, containers, and labels and the process of trial and error before achieving this beautiful outcome.
A Budget-Friendly Linen Closet Makeover
A post on the best home organization tips wouldn’t be complete without some advice for the simple linen closet. Sometimes it’s the hidden spaces that give us the most satisfaction when they are organized and tidy. An organized closet is one of those things that makes me smile whenever I open the door and see well-ordered shelves. Kelly shares her best tips for organizing a small linen closet on a budget in under 30 minutes. The keys to organizing a linen closet are purging items that are no longer used and using baskets to store items. Baskets can make even a mismatched collection of face towels and hand towels look good (I know from personal experience).
Quick Ways To Organize A Small Walk-In Closet
I think walk-in closets are typically one of the spaces that get the messiest quickly. And they are such an often-used space in most homes. It makes sense to devote a few minutes to organize this space. AnnMarie does a wonderful job of organizing her husband’s walk-in closet so there is a place for everything. I love how the shirts are organized by colour- it creates such a harmonious look. She shares some of the best home organization tips I’ve seen. AnnMarie uses quality hangers, shelving for folded clothing, hooks for hats, and baskets for small items. The inclusion of a shoe rack is a great touch for a walk-in closet too. I definitely need to take some advice from this post, as our Master closet is one of the few spaces in our home I haven’t yet organized properly.
Master Closet Reveal
Mary from Life At Bella Terra shares her stunning Master closet. Would you believe that this charming vignette is part of her closet? Yes, she has a beautiful window view and a lovely dressing table. Every detail in this closet is well thought out, pretty, and practical. Her necklaces are hung in a decorative way, her smaller items are all in pretty baskets, there are shelves for shoes and purses, and she even has an ironing board that pops out of the wall. I think a lovely closet like this would make getting dressed in the morning much more fun!
